Community Overview
Bordering the Potomac River, the city of Rockville and Bethesda, Potomac is a DC suburb located in the southwestern hemisphere of Montgomery County. Potomac is a true suburban oasis, characterized by gorgeous open space, rolling hills, and winding roads. It’s a quiet town with its’ hub being Potomac Village located on the corner of River and Falls Road where you will find gourmet stores and restaurants like The Market at River Falls, Vie de France, Starbucks, and more. The homes tend to range from large sprawling ranch-styled homes to immense and grand colonial-styled mansions.
Additionally, there are newer sections like Park Potomac located off of I-270 near the intersections of Seven Locks and Montrose Road. Park Potomac offers high-end townhomes and condominiums as well as quality retail shopping, restaurants, and office space.
Because Potomac allows for ample space between each home, it is ideal for residents who value privacy. In fact, it’s home to many professional athletes, high-profile individuals, and known politicians. Potomac is also great for those who are looking for a lot of land to build their dream home.
While Potomac in itself is more on the quiet side, it’s a short drive to Pike & Rose in North Bethesda, RIO center in Gaithersburg, downtown Bethesda, and Westfield Montgomery Mall.
For those who like spending time outdoors, it’s located right off Great Falls, where you can enjoy hikes such as The Billy Goat trail. It’s also home to multiple golf courses, swimming pools, and tennis clubs.
Due to limited public transportation options, residents definitely need a car to get around but don’t worry, most homes in this suburb come with long driveways and 2 car garages. Just a 30-minute drive to the city, Potomac has easy access to i-495, Clara Barton Parkway, and River road, meaning its residents don’t have to sacrifice convenience to live in their palatial paradise.
